CASCADE TOWNSHIP, Mich. –Construction begins Monday on 36th Street between Patterson Avenue and Kraft Avenue. That route is one of two major access routes from the north to Gerald R. Ford International Airport.
The Kent County Road Commission expect work to continue through July 3.
Many air passengers have been using the 36th Street interchange at I-96 as an alternative to the traffic lights and congestion on 28th Street between I-96 and Patterson Avenue.
Now, two forms of congestion can be expected until the work is finished.
