GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. --Harrison Park Elementary School teacher Heather Gauck has been honored by PBS as a top 100 teacher for their "Learning Media Digital Innovators Program."

Gauck first started transitioning her students with iPads four years ago, and has watched their grades and attention improve ever since.

"I don't want to say 100% engagement, but it is very close because they are creating and they are so engaged with it," she said.

With the help of Heather's insight, (and donor's money) Harrison Park now has nearly 50 iPads and nearly 30 iPad Minis for their students to use.  Earlier this school year Gauck, a 21 year teaching veteran, was named to the Michigan Educator Voice Fellowship Program and is part of a new national "Teach to Lead" organization.
