MUSKEGON, Mich. -- Motorcyclists from all over gathered in Muskegon to take a ride along the lakeshore for the 95th annual Spring Run. The event was put on by the Muskegon Motorcycle Club and it’s something they do every year.

Around a thousand riders attended Sunday afternoon and many say it was the perfect way to kick off this year’s riding season. As the weather continues to get better, the roads will become more populated with motorcyclists and they say there’s a lot to keep in mind when sharing the road.

Riders at the event told us it’s important to look twice, double checking your blind spots to make sure the area is clear before transitioning into a neighboring lane. Chairmen of the event, Dean Smith, used a pencil to point out how easy it is for riders to get tucked into driver’s blind spots.

Many attendees at the event also stressed the importance of wearing the proper gear and a certified helmet when operating a motorcycle.
