DUBUQUE, Iowa -- It's been five years since the Muskegon Lumberjacks were re-invented as a United States Hockey League franchise.
That's a quick turn from expansion team conference champions.
Max Humitz scored his first two goals of the Clark Cup Playoffs and Eric Schierhorn stopped 39 shots to lead the Lumberjacks to a 4-3 win over the Dubuque Fighting Saints to win the best-of-five conference finals series three games to two -- and clinch a spot in the Clark Cup Finals.
Muskegon will play the Western Conference champion Sioux Falls Stampede in the best-of-five finals. Games 1 and 2 of the series will be played at L.C. Walker Arena in Muskegon on Saturday, May 9 and Sunday, May 10.
