2,700 lose electricity after car hits power pole

KENT COUNTY, Mich. — Roughly 2,700 people lost power after a vehicle struck a power pole along 4 Mile Road Monday afternoon.

According to the Kent County Sheriff’s Department, the crash happened at about 2:04 p.m. at 4 Mile Road and Miramar Avenue NE.   Power lines were down in the area and the road was closed, officials said.   No injuries have been reported.

2,701 people lost power just after 2 p.m.  but the power has since been restored.
