GRAND RAPIDS – A woman is being treated for injuries after the car she was driving backed through a fence near a CVS Pharmacy along 28th Street, landing in an empty backyard pool.
Grand Rapids officers responded to the accident near 28th Street and Eastern Avenue at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Officers at the scene say it appears the driver accidentally put the car into reverse and backed through a fence into an empty pool.
The pool is in the backyard of a home along nearby Everglade Drive SE.
The woman’s injuries appeared to be minor. She was being treated at the scene by first responders as of 3:00 p.m.
No other injuries were reported.
Crews were working to bring in equipment to remove the vehicle from the pool Sunday afternoon.
