WEST MICHIGAN- Rain moved through the area last night, but mainly stayed to the north. So what does that mean for us today? As a warm front lifts northward, we will see better opportunities to see showers and thunderstorms this afternoon, especially if the sun breaks through.
What is to be expected from these storms? As Future Track HD shows, isolated/scattered storms are projected to form around lunchtime, especially away from the lakeshore.
As you’ll note from Future Track HD, there isn’t one bona fide line of showers and thunderstorms, they are more isolated in nature as they build up with the afternoon heating. Storms that do form will have the potential to be stronger and even maybe an isolated severe storm is possible off to the south and east. Once the evening rolls around, we’ll see things clear out again as we reach highs near 80 this afternoon.
