PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, Mich. — 30 people were kicked out of an America’s Best Value Inn over the weekend after a dispute over the hotel’s waffle maker, according to the Mason County Sheriff’s Department.

According to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole, the incident started when two women were arguing in the hotel’s breakfast buffet area at about 9 a.m. Sunday. Cole said one of the women apparently asked the other if she was waiting to use the waffle maker, and when she didn’t get an answer she started making a waffle.

The other woman then confronted her and the two started arguing, Cole said.  Deputies were called to the hotel, located at 5095 U.S. 10, after the feud escalated to include a much larger group.

No one was arrested during the incident, but the group was ordered to leave the property, Cole said.   No injuries were reported.
