As the weather gets nicer, more and more kids are out riding their bikes - and some aren't wearing a helmet properly or at all.
Dr. Stephen Bloom, director of the Brain Injury and Concussion Programs at Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital, and a survivor of a car-bike crash where a helmet saved his life, is helping with the Lids for Kids program.
The 2nd Annual Lids for Kids is Saturday, May 30 from 10:00am until Noon at Garfield Park at Madison and Burton SE. The event includes a bike helmet giveaway for kids ages 4-12.
