Undersheriff Michelle LaJoye-Young
KENT COUNTY, Mich. — Michelle LaJoye-Young has been named the new undersheriff for the Kent County Sheriff’s Department, according to a press release.
The announcement follows theretirement of Undersheriff Jon Hess, who announced he was leaving in late April after 36 years with the department.
LaJoye-Young joined the department in December 1989 as a corrections officer and served as a captain and lieutenant before being promoted to Chief Deputy in 2011.
