BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – The suspect in yesterday’s bank robbery and anthrax scare has been charged in court.
Douglas Wolthuis of Lawton has been charged with Bank Robbery. More charges of Armed Robbery are expected from the Calhoun County Prosecutor’s Office.
The judge set Wolthuis’s bond at $2 million.
Wolthuis allegedly robbed the Chase Bank branch at Fort Custer Tuesday. He threatened employees of the bank with a substance that he claimed was anthrax. After he was captured, the substance and his vehicle were analyzed and no anthrax was detected.
