GRAND RAPIDS,  Mich. -- A memorial more than 27 months in the making was unveiled on Sunday afternoon at the Lamb of God Church on Rena Street on the southwest side of Grand Rapids.

A plaque remember Latrice Maze now sits on the side of the church's entrance -- a reminder of the 26-year-old mother of five who was murdered in March of 2013.

With no body to bury, the plaque featuring Maze's face is a comforting sight for her family.

"It means a whole lot just to have something that we can really just come to -- just to visit," Lariea Ezell, Maze's cousin, said. "We still got something to remember her by."

Maze went missing on March 19, 2013. After weeks of searching and praying, Jahleel Hoskins -- Maze's boyfriend -- was charged and later convicted of the murder. He is currently serving a life sentence.

"What it means is justice now," Ezell said. "We are comfortable. We are happy as a family - and it feels good now to really have a plaque that we can come to."

That positivity continues with the sight of Latrice's daughter Renea...who is regularly reminded of how much she looks like her mother.

"Amazing," she says when asked what she thinks of the likeness. "I like to look like my mama."
