GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Homeowners on the West side are taking it upon themselves to warn drivers to slow down.

Nina Ward says she spends a lot of time yelling at cars flying by her Willis Avenue neighborhood, and she's had enough.

"We have all these kids kids back and forth down the street, and I don't think anybody does 25 down here.  They are doing 60 down the road," she said.

Ward's sons Mason and Caleb, along with their friend Elijah, made a sign to tell people to pump the brakes.

Last July, FOX 17 told you about Ron Ward and his sign that said "Want a Ticket? 25 not 55."    Ward, who lives on Richmond Street just a few blocks from Nina Ward, has another sign this summer: "Kids Beware, Speeders Don't Care."

"Might as well warn the kids because the drivers don't give a crap," he said.

How about you make a formal complaint and ask for additional speed limit signs. You created trashy looking signs and now people want to rebel because you have no authority. Do you just sit on your front porch with a speedometer? It’s people like you that bring property values down.

Hmmm, when I was a kid my parents didn’t let me play in the street. Also taught me to look both ways before I crossed & to cross at the corner.
