LANSING, Mich.  The clock is ticking on a $1 million Mega Millions lottery ticket sold at the CVS Pharmacy at 28th Street and Eastern.

The million-dollar winner was sold on August 5, 2014 and the lucky ticket holder has until Wednesday (Aug. 5, 2015) to claim the prize – or they may not be considered lucky any longer.

If the prize is not claimed by 4:45pm Wednesday, the $1 million goes to the state School Aid Fund.  Mega Millions tickets are valid for one year from the drawing date.

The ticket matched the first five numbers drawn that day: 25-28-36-45-53.  Whoever has the ticket, should contact the Michigan Lottery Public Relations Division at (517) 323-1737. The winner must come to Lottery headquarters in Lansing to claim the prize.

If the ticket holder does not come forward, it would be the first major prize to go unclaimed in 2015.  In 2014, five major prizes went unclaimed, totalling over $1 million.
