ROSEVILLE, Mich. (WJBK) – The Walmart in Roseville was evacuated Tuesday morning after a coincidence of two threatening events at the store.

Store officials found a suspicious package, and a letter threatening employees’ lives.  Now, Roseville Police Chief Berlin says the two items are not related. He says the letter was from a former employee who was recently let go. That person has been taken into custody.

Berlin says they have watched surveillance video and have spotted the suspect who left the backpack. He says, based on the way the person was dressed, it does not appear to be a store employee.

The store at 12 Mile Road and Gratiot Avenue was evacuated and the bomb squad was called. Berlin says a 100 yard perimeter was set up as they waited on the bomb squad to arrive.

The all-clear was given at the store just after 11 a.m.
