KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Kalamazoo Public Safety officers and detectives are continuing to search for George Mack, a suspect in a weekend murder.

Investigators believe that Mack shot and killed Edward Bell, 26, Sunday behind a home on north Rose Street.  Mack is out on bond for a felony home invasion from last month.  Investigators say that Mack may have gone to the home to ambush his long-time girlfriend and that Bell may have died trying to defend his sister.

After the shooting, officers surrounded a home on north Burdick Street where they thought Mack was hiding.  He was able to get away.  Investigators think he may now be near Benton Harbor or even Chicago.

The Kalamazoo County Prosecutor's office has issued four new charges against Mack, including Open Murder and felony gun charges.  If you see Mack, you are warned to not approach him as he is likely armed and dangerous.  Anyone with information should call Kalamazoo Public Safety at 269-337-8994 or Silent Observer at 269-343-2100.
