CALEDONIA TOWNSHIP, Mich. — An 80-year-old Wayland man was killed Thursday afternoon in a crash between a van and a bucket truck on Patterson Avenue near 108th Street in Caledonia Township.
Investigators at the scene said a bucket truck driven by a 35-year-old man from Dorr was northbound on Patterson Avenue when a westbound minivan pulled in front of the truck.The collision sent both vehicles off the road, with the bucket truck ending up on top of the minivan.
Power lines were also brought down in the collision, making it difficult first responders to reach the driver of the minivan, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the bucket truck is said to be okay.
Names of the drivers involved haven’t been released.
