GRANDVILLE, Mich. — A Grandville man is getting set for a cross country journey, and it’s all for a good cause. Grant Bergsma, 30, will ride 3,500 miles from California to Florida to raise awareness for the Wounded Warrior Project.

“It’s going to be a long trip, but it’s a short amount of time compared to troops that will suffer from battle wounds mental and physical for the rest of their lives,” said Bergsma. “I am honored to have the opportunity to raise awareness and funds for this amazing charitable organization.”

According to a press release, Bergma plans to ride his bike 100 miles per day.  The journey will span a five-week period beginning in Los Angeles on November 1 and wrapping up in Marco Island, Florida, on December 7.

In 2013, Bergsma completed a trip from Grandville to Gainesville, Florida, to raise awareness for ALS.
