GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.-- Grand Rapids Police continue their investigation into what led up to the tasing of a man being tased and the arrest of nine others at a party over the weekend.

Police say it all began late Saturday night when more than 35 officers were called to the 1900 block of Giddings SE for a reported loud gathering with nearly 100 people.

Officers say they arrested the tenant of the home for creating a disturbance after they refused to turn off the music or make attendees leave.

One person was tased after allegedly trying to keep police from making an arrest.

FOX 17 obtained footage Tuesday afternoon that was taken by bystander at the scene.

Viewing the video, GRPD Sgt. Terry Dixon said police are still looking into what really happened that night.

"[The video] doesn't tell the story of how it lead up to the Taser deployment," Sgt. Dixon said. "We have to look at all the video from the time as early as we can to determine how it got to that particular point."

FOX 17 spoke with a neighbor who said that while the gathering was loud, she doesn't believe police should have used any force at all.

"Just because there was an electronic control device or taser deployment, it doesn't necessarily mean it was an unreasonable response," Sgt. Dixon said. "We have to determine and look at all of the video and the officer and citizen account of what took place that night."

Sgt. Dixon believes the officers appeared to be outnumbered and added that those in the crowd seemed confused and concerned.

GRPD is asking anyone else with video from Saturday night to share it with them as the investigation continues.

"This is not a CSI show where things finish in an hour," Dixon said. "It takes time in order to develop a full picture of what took place."

We're told officers on the scene were not wearing body cameras, but they do have dash cam video. They plan to release that footage Friday.
