GRAND RAPIDS, Mich-250 Monroe Avenue NW in downtown Grand Rapids is best known as the Calder Plaza Building.  It's a mixed use office building with retail on the ground floor, but it's best known for its parking.  On the east side of the building it offers both outside and indoor underground parking.  But in about one year, it'll offer much more, thanks to CWD Real Estate Investment.

Sam Cummings is a Principal with CWD and explained to Fox 17 how the building was originally built in 1982 with cars in mind.  "Originally it was designed with a vehicular approach," said Cummings.  Part of the changes will make it more pedestrian friendly, specifically on the west side of the building closest to DeVos Place Convention center and other landmarks that weren't there when the Calder Plaza building went up 33 years ago.

The building offers 160,000 square feet of space and Cummings expect the construction to begin this December, and to be completed sometime in the 3rd quarter of 2016.
