KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- Beer lovers from all over came together at Bell's Brewery on Sunday afternoon to attend a rally put on by the American Homebrewing Association, an organization based out of Colorado.

During the event, Bell's was giving out free beer and their house yeast... as well as giving exclusive brewery tours and having raffles.  The handfuls of homebrewers didn't just come out to have a cold brew, but to have a good time with people just like them.

One of the homebrewers we spoke with, Mike Halloran, says "it's a perfect time to talk about different recipes, share brewing secrets, and discuss where they source their ingredients from."

The past proves that Bell's Brewery was the perfect spot for this rally.  General store manager, David Curtis, says "Bells has a deep history in homebrewing... we actually started out with our founder homebrewing and got going from there."

It's safe to say that West Michigan is a well known place for all things beer.  Many of the people we spoke with at the event say they've heard about our local breweries from all over the country and that Michigan beer has a lot of quality.
