GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - A woman was recognized Friday for making a life-saving move in a car crash this summer.

Ashley Peet was given the "Saved by the Belt" award.  She was badly injured in a crash in Courtland Township in April.  She spent two weeks in Intensive Care and doctors say her seat belt likely saved her life.

Peet's father, Jack, worked in traffic safety for the Michigan State Police for 40 years and with AAA.
