GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — An 18-year-old suspected of being involved in a crime spree through the Georgetown and Allendale area was arrested Friday night in Grand Rapids.

Emilio Dwayne Melton was taken into custody by Grand Rapids Police on a two-county felony warrant for arson and receiving and concealing stolen property, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department.

The crimes occurred in the Georgetown Township and Allendale areas on Tuesday, October 20.  One of the vehicles stolen, a 1999 Chevy Suburban, was found on October 21 at the end of River Street in Jenison, abandoned and burned.

Investigators said evidence from that scene lead them to believe Melton could be involved.

Melton was arrested without incident near Leonard Street and Elizabeth Street in Grand Rapids.

More suspects are likely involved and more charges are expected.
