PINEGROVE TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Two people were arrested in Van Buren County Sunday for operating a meth lab, leading police on a chase, and other various charges.

The incidents started at about 2:00pm Sunday in the 28000 block of 20th Avenue, according to Van Buren County Sheriff’s deputies. A deputy tried to stop a white Toyota Avalon on 27th Street near 20th Avenue when the driver fled into a driveway of a home on 20th Avenue, left the vehicle and ran away.  The deputy chased the man for over a mile before catching him.  A woman was taken into custody by the home.

Deputies searched the vehicle and found a one-pot meth lab, meth, meth ingredients, marijuana, other drug paraphernalia, a drug scale and an open beer. The man is described as a 27-year-old from the Gobles area and the woman as a 29-year-old from the Lawton area.  Their names will be released after their arraignments.
