I live in middleville and the Main Street bridge has been closed down for months… This is the only road in abs out of town and it is super hard to see trying to turn on to m37. MDot said it was not necessary to put a light up there…
Our school buses have to go that way full of all all our kids. Thank goodness a bus full of kids has not been hit.
Something needs to be done with that intersection more sooner than later.
The bridge is open as of today but they need to do the study again on traffic on that road.
When mdot did there study it was during spring break and during the time our big factory in town was on shut down. They did not get a good enough read in my eyes.
    Something needs to get done.
I called mdot months and months ago and left a message and I have never gotten a call back

Mdot has been contacted repeatedly regarding a light at this intersection. They say it does not meet the “criteria” for a light. Yes the bridge is open but the fact remains that it is very dangerous , Mdot needs to reassess the situation.

People drive down those roads there like bats out of you know what, and I’ve heard of numerous accidents taking place at that intersection, I’ve walked down both M-37 and Crane and have witnessed numerous times where people would have no disregard of their surrounding and drive on the shoulder. I’m glad the bridge in town is ‘supposedly’ back open though, but changes needed to be made to that intersection months ago.

This accident involved my brother. I live in Midland and do not know this area well. It’s apparent from the comments this area of roadway is terrible. Maybe it’s time for a traffic light to be installed!!!! Please pray for my injured brother.

I am so sorry to hear about your brother. He will be in my prayers. I hope he is showing signs of improvement. My husband and I live about a mile away from that intersection. We went by the accident about 1/2 hour after it had happened. We both looked at each other with an “it was inevitable” look on our faces. We locals are praying for a light at that intersection. Sending prayers your way.
