WASHINGTON (AP) — President Francois Hollande’s call to bring Russia into a new coalition to fight Islamic State group extremists isn’t likely to win the backing of President Barack Obama when the two meet today at the White House.

But the administration will reaffirm its solidarity with France in the wake of the Paris attacks.

Hollande’s visit is part of a diplomatic offensive to get more action from the international community.

Obama and Hollande will hold a joint news conference at about 11:30pm. We will stream the news conference live on FOX17Online.com.

Why should we allow ourselves to get dragged into a pissing match with Russia? Who benefits from that? Certainly not us. Let Europe and the Middle Eastern countries deal with Russia themselves, they are perfectly capable. Russia is economically nearly as weak as Greece for crying out loud, it won’t take much to get them back in line.
