KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Has “The Force” been with you? Educators at Western Michigan University want to find out you learned from Star Wars about living an ethical life.

The Kalamazoo school’s Center for the Study of Ethics in Society is sponsoring an essay contest titled “The Most Important Thing I Learned about Ethics from ‘Star Wars.'”

The center’s co-director says Stars Wars and the battle between good and evil in the movies often finds its way into her lectures.

Essays of 100 words or less should be posted on the center’s Facebook page by Monday, Dec. 7. The winner gets a 1996 action figure, unopened, of a Tusken Raider.

The latest of the films, “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” opens December 18.
