MUSKEGON, Mich. -- No one likes a grinch, but Ameerah Stalling said one paid her home an unwelcome visit Wednesday morning.

"They busted out the window," Stalling pointed out in the kitchen.

The window has since been put back in place since the burglary. However, Stalling said she and her two daughters were away Wednesday morning when someone broke in and stole the girls' presents from under the tree. Stalling said DVDs were also stolen from the TV stand.

The 30-year-old said she called 911 "and [police] came right away."

When police arrived, they assessed the scene and took a report. Stalling said the officer also asked what size clothes her 4-year-old and 7-year-old daughters wear. She didn't realize why until later that day.

According to the police department, the officers who helped the family did not want their names released. Stalling is grateful for their help and for making her daughters' Christmas special.
