BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Three suspects are in custody following an armed home invasion overnight.

Police said it happened around 12:30 Sunday morning when officers received a breaking and entering call in the 100 block of Upton Ave. The residents said three people, who police have not yet identified, had kicked in the front door waving guns.

Officers contained the three in the house and were able to call two of the suspects out. The remaining suspect inside attempted to hide in a crawl space in the basement, where he was later found by a K-9 unit. Police said he received medical attention for dog bites sustained in the search.

All three suspects were arrested.

According to investigators, the suspects had guns, masks, and gloves on them. Police believe this incident is related to a robbery that had happened the day before at the same location. Authorities said they don’t believe the armed robbery was random.
