ORLANDO, Fla. — Jake Rudock ended his college career the same way he ended his high school career: a win in Citrus Bowl Stadium.

The Florida native who led St. Thomas Aquinas to a 5A state championship in 2010 in Orlando returned to throw for 278 yards and three touchdown passes, leading the 14th-ranked Michigan Wolverines to a 41-7 win in the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl against 19th-ranked Florida on Friday.

De’Veon Smith led Michigan (10-3) with 109 rushing yards. Drake Johnson and Sione Houma added scores on the ground. Johnson, Jehu Chesson, and Grant Perry caught touchdowns for the Wolverines.

Channing Stribling and Jarrod Wilson both had interceptions for the Wolverines defense, who didn’t allowed the Gators to gain a single yard in the third quarter. Michigan finishes the season allowing just 16.4 points per game — including six games allowing seven points or less.
