LANSING, Mich. (AP) — General Motors Co. says it’s adding a third shift at a Lansing plant that makes the Chevrolet Camaro and the Cadillac CTS and ATS.

The Detroit automaker said Monday it will add roughly 500 hourly and salaried jobs to meet expected demand for the 2016 Camaro produced at Lansing Grand River Assembly. Hiring has begun and the shift is set to start in the second quarter.

The plant will have about 2,300 workers once the third shift is operational.

The plant relaunched a second shift last summer, hiring 450 employees to produce the Camaro, after discontinuing it earlier in 2015.
