HOLLAND, Mich. -- Every form of vehicular crash took place in the early morning hours of the first commute of 2016 in western Ottawa County. One man was injured in one of several rollover incidents. While snow fell in Kent County, road conditions were affected far less than the Holland area.

The injury rollover took place just before 5 a.m. in the northbound lanes of US-31. The one SUV involved rolled off the pavement and through traffic was not affected. The driver's injuries were minor.

Another rollover occurred on I-96 westbound near Marne at mile 24.

But not long after, another crash took place at the intersection in the southbound lanes. More rollovers were reported along US-31 between Holland and M-45, notably at Croswell Street and at Fillmore Street.

Less serious slide-offs were also reported along US-31 and at other locations in Ottawa County.

The mishaps continued after 7 a.m., most notably the crash in Barry County that closed M-37 for a time between Aiport and Upton roads northwest of Hastings. The highway was reopened around 8 a.m.
