Netflix announces premiere dates for 2016

“Jessica Jones” will get a second season, Netflix announced Sunday at its portion of the winter TV press tour.

That was the lead item in a slew of announcements from the streaming service. Season 2 doesn’t have a release date yet, nor are there any details about where the new season will take Jessica (Krysten Ritter).

Netflix did announce 2016 premiere dates for both returning and new shows:

Returning shows

“Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” Season 2: Friday, April 15

“Grace and Frankie” Season 2: Friday, May 6

“Orange Is the New Black”: Friday, June 17

New shows

“Flaked”: Friday, March 11. The comedy stars Will Arnett as a Venice, Calif., dude whose carefully constructed image starts to fall apart when he falls for his best friend’s girl.

“The Ranch”: Friday, April 1. “That ’70s Show” alums Ashton Kutcher and Danny Masterson reunite for a multi-camera comedy about brothers who reunite to help their dad (Sam Elliott) run a ranching business. Debra Winger plays their mom.

“Lost & Found Music Studios”: Friday, April 1. A series for tweens about a group of teenage musicians hoping to make it big in the music business.

“Kong: King of the Apes”: Friday, April 15. Animated kids’ show set in 2050. Kong is the only force powerful enough to stop an evil genius and his army of robot dinosaurs — but he’s also public enemy No. 1.

“Marseille”: Friday, May 6. A French political drama starring Gerard Depardieu as the long-time mayor of Marseille hoping to push through one last big deal before he leaves office.

“Word Party”: Friday, June 3. Kids’ show from The Jim Henson Company.

“Stranger Things”: Friday, July 15. Winona Ryder stars in a drama about the search for a missing boy in Indiana that leads to much bigger mysteries.

“The Get Down,” part 1: Friday, Aug. 12. The first six episodes of Baz Lurhmann’s music-infused drama about 1970s New York.
