Man charged with murder in Grand Rapids parking lot shooting

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A 21-year-old man is facing several charges in the fatal March 2015 shooting in the parking lot at the Chicken Coop restaurant, 1156 S. Division Ave.

Shaquille Bunting is charged with open murder, felon in possession of a weapon and felony firearms in connection with the shooting death of 32-year-old Terence Hollis, according to the Grand Rapids Police Department.

Hollis was shot and killed at about 2:46 a.m. March 22, 2015.  He was taken to the hospital and later died.

Police say Bunting has been behind bars on perjury charges related to this shooting since April 2015.  He is scheduled to be back in court for the murder case Feb. 11.
