ADA, Mich. – This week, as FOX 17 continues its Forever Home series, we are pleased to introduce you to Cody, 16.

Cody is a fun-loving high school student who said he’s always hoping to find a “nice and lovable” adoptive family.

He’s full of life and fun to be around, but he can get to work. Tuesday FOX 17 spent the morning with Cody at MVP Sports in Ada, where he was pumped to be building muscle alongside his personal trainer. He’s game for a good work out and made sure we got to join in on the fun, too.

For the past almost four years, Cody has lived in a group home through the Michigan foster care system. Cody is polite and respectful and it’s evident he cares about the people around him, and called himself “funny and lovable.”

In high school Cody loves science as much as being outdoors. Now he said he wants to put his skills to work and hopes to build a dune buggy one day to help him be a more efficient hunter and angler.

“I want to be in the woods when I go home, be hunting and fishing and stuff like that, so I figure instead of walking all of us could drive through the woods on the trail,” said Cody.

Also a talented chef and baker, Cody said he truly wishes to spend time doing all of these hobbies with a family.

“Go fishing a lot and hunting, have older siblings than me, and have a mom and dad,” Cody said he is wishing for.

Cody said he would love a family of his own who has the qualities he said matter most: “Cares about you and themselves.”

Cody is truly a joy to be around, he is a hard-worker, and a teen with a positive attitude.

If you would like to adopt Cody, or learn more about him, please call his adoption agency, Orchards Children’s Services, at: 1 (855) 694-7301.

Remember too, Cody is 16-years-old, so he has less than two years to be adopted. When teens turn 18-years-old they can no longer be legally adopted by a family, though they can still apply for services through the state of Michigan.
