Driver injured after rolling vehicle to avoid mail truck

GEORGETOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. — One person suffered minor injuries after swerving to avoid a parked mail truck, according to authorities in Ottawa County.

According to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department, Rudy Wright, 54, of Kalamazoo attempted to change lanes to avoid hitting the parked mail truck which was delivering mail near Cottonwood Drive and Carriage Lane just before noon on Saturday.

Wright’s SUV rolled over, pinning him inside for a short time, authorities said. He was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the mail truck, Samantha Susterich, 24, of Grandville, was uninjured.
