BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. — A man from St. Joseph was injured following a single car crash Thursday evening.

It happened just before 5:30 p.m. at Water Street and Vine Street in St. Joseph.

The Berrien County Sheriff’s Department said Greg Groen, 57, of St. Joseph was injured after he drove off the road and hit a fire hydrant. Police said the vehicle rolled over and Groen was rescued by the St. Joseph Public Safety Fire Department. He was taken to Lakeland Hospital for treatment with unknown injuries.

It is unclear if alcohol played a factor in the crash, but authorities continue to investigate.
