MIDDLEVILLE, Mich. — A 64-year-old man was hospitalized after falling through the ice on Monday.
It happened around 5:10 p.m. on Briggs Road at the Gun Lake State Park in Middleville.
The Barry County Sheriff’s Department said the man was fishing on the lake when he fell through the ice. Police said the man was about 150 yards off shore and was submerged in the water for about 30 minutes. He was conscious and alert when emergency crews rescued him.
He was flown to the hospital via AeroMed for treatment. The man’s condition is unknown.
