DETROIT (AP) — A child’s body that was found in a burned-out vacant house in Detroit has been identified as a 4-year-old girl who was the subject of an Amber Alert.

The Wayne County medical examiner’s office made the identification of Savannah Walker Wednesday night.

A cause of death has not yet been determined.

The Amber Alert was issued Saturday. The same day the bodies of an adult and child were found in the vacant house on the city’s eastside. The adult was later identified as Savannah’s mother, 39-year-old Heidi Walker, who was reported missing days earlier.

Marcus Hightower is charged with first-degree murder, child abuse, unlawful imprisonment and arson.

Police have said the 34-year-old Hightower had been dating Heidi Walker and was the last person seen with Savannah.
