WEST MICHIGAN — An upper level disturbance bringing some light snow and even some freezing drizzle this morning will pivot southeastward and out of the area this afternoon. Untreated roads will be slippery into the early afternoon hours, in fact the National Weather Service has just issued a Winter Weather Advisory for most of the viewing area until noon:

Advisory

With the snow ending and temperatures getting above freezing for highs, roads should improve drastically after about 2 PM.

Tonight, however, we are expecting partial clearing and light winds. This will allow temperatures to quickly fall back below freezing. Some of the melted snow could then re-freeze on untreated roads and sidewalks, making it slippery once again. Therefore, use extreme caution when traveling on your Saturday night.

Tomorrow, some sunshine and a south wind will boost our temperatures into the 40s. This will signal an end to our threat for slippery roads and sidewalks as temperatures are expected to stay above freezing through most of the upcoming workweek.
