GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – A few rubber chickens and the dedication of people across West Michigan could get a world record back into the hands of the Grand Rapids community.

As an unofficial kickoff to this year’s LaughFest, a rubber chicken toss on the first day of the festival will aim to get the region into the record books. The current record, which once belonged to Grand Rapids, requires more than 999 participants. The toss will take place March 10 at 5:30 p.m. at Calder Plaza. That event will also coincide with the first day of the festival.

Everyone is encouraged to participate regardless of age. Bring your rubber chickens if you have them!

You could be part of an entertaining comedy festival! All you need is to hire comedians who are both relevant and talented! Maybe if you did that you wouldn’t have to resort to a sight gag from the 1950’s to try to lure people in. Maybe you would be so busy selling tickets at premium fund-raiser prices that you wouldn’t have time to bother with rubber chickens. Having an article a day about this is an obvious sign of desperation. Maybe you should learn from this experience, rather than continue to do what you have done in the last 4 years. Maybe then you would see attendance go up instead of down.
Or you could continue doing the same thing that you have been doing and the result will somehow be different through magic or divine intervention.

Just think of all the people who could be helped by the money they spend on this promotional event. I mean sure, rubber chickes are cheap, and they sure aren’t spending a lot on the “comedians”, but I bet they are paying the heck out of the event administrators!
