LOWELL, Mich. – A woman who pleaded guilty to lying about an arson investigation has been sentenced to probation.

Michelle Fyan was sentenced Thursday to 36 months of probation. She was not ordered to pay restitution, but the prosecutor can come back and change that decision.

Fyan, and her husband Ricky, pleaded guilty to lying to an officer in a felony investigation.  The Fyan’s had been investigated by police for insurance fraud after a suspicious fire in the home in March of 2014.  The couple had had four fires in their home over the last several years.

Ricky Fyan will be sentenced in April.
