KALAMAZOO, Mich. — The world can see 14-year-old Abigail Kopf smile for the first time after she was randomly shot in the head during a Feb. 20 shooting rampage in Kalamazoo.

In the photo, shared to Kopf’s GoFundMe page Sunday evening, Abigail can be seen laughing in her hospital bed next to her sister.

The teen was one of two people shot that night who survived. Tiana Carruthers, who has been hailed a hero, continues to recover after she was shot several times as she tried to shield children who were nearby.

Six others were killed in the shootings.

Kopf was transferred from Bronson Hospital to the Mary Free Bed rehab facility in Grand Rapids where she spoke her first words just days ago. She spent at total 17 days at Bronson.
