KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Kalamazoo investigators say a parolee is behind bars again after they found an active meth lab in his vehicle.

Thursday evening, the Kalamazoo Valley Enforcement Team (KVET) with assistance from parole agents from the Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC), made a compliance check in the 3700 block of Vanrick Drive. While talking with a 37-year-old man on parole and a 26-year-old woman, agents found an “active methamphetamine lab” and finished meth in their vehicle.

The parolee was arrested and is facing charges of operating and maintaining a meth lab and possession of meth. He was taken to the Kalamazoo County Jail. The woman is facing the same charges and was released from the scene.

Police say this is the second time in the past seven months this same man had gotten into trouble on meth-related charges.
