GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. --  The City of Grand Rapids received numerous complaints about a giant pothole along Century Avenue near Vries Street.

The pothole is roughly 4 inches deep.

Sheri Stockman says the pothole is responsible for causing about $2,000 worth of damage to her car. She says she's one of at least six people whose rims have bent and tires have gone flat.

"I hope people take notice," Stockman said. "It’s not about me. Yes, I’m out the money, but it’s about the neighborhood as well and the companies that are here."

According to Grand Rapids Risk Management, the city has 30 days to fill a pothole once someone files a complaint.  They said they've received five about the pothole on Century Avenue.

Grand Rapids Public Works says those with damage to their cars can file a pothole claim report with the risk management department online, but you'll only be reimbursed if the city doesn't fill the pothole within 30 days of the first complaint.

You can file a complaint about a Grand Rapids pothole by calling 616-456-3000 or 311.
