GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Power has been restored to Grand Rapids’ northeast side after a large power outage at midday Sunday.

Electrical service was knocked out at 11:25 a.m. to 5,201 Consumers Energy customers. A Consumers spokeswoman told FOX 17 that crews originally went to work on a report of wires down in the Dean Lake and Three Mile area. Upon arriving at that location they found two power lines burned out plus a tree that had fallen on the lines, which was responsible for causing the outage.

The large area without electricity was bordered by Plainfield Avenue NE on the north, by East Beltline Avenue NE on the east, by Leonard Street NE on the south and by Coit Avenue NE on the west.

Power was fully restored by late afternoon Sunday.
