GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Some Grand Rapids city employees rescued some baby ducks in the Creston neighborhood.

The City of Grand Rapids Environmental Services Department posted details about the rescue on their Facebook page.  A resident called 311 when hearing a mother duck making a lot of noise by a storm drain.  Crews came out and removed the grate and rescued the ducklings.

They say that storm drains have to be open to let water drain from the street and they aren't animal proof.  If you have any issues with storm drains or animals needing rescue, you should call 311.

Monday, an Ottawa County deputy rescued another family of ducks from a drain in Holland.
