GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. —   A crowd gathered at Aquinas College Wednesday morning for the unveiling of a new sculpture.

The sculpture of St. Thomas Aquinas, the patron saint of the school, was unveiled to the public.  The man behind the sculpture is the nationally recognized artist Jay Hall Carpenter.

The sculpture, which stands at 17 feet, is located at the circle drive right past the school’s Fulton street entrance.

“This sculpture stands as a symbol and a way to welcome everyone to the school’s beautiful campus,” said Aquinas President Juan Olivarez.

The sculpture  is a part of a bigger initiative to revamp the entire Fulton Street entrance.
