MT. CLEMENS, Mich. – A 70-year-old man came forward after seeing media reports that he was being looked for after a suspicious incident Tuesday.

A suspicious situation complaint was filed with the Macomb County Sheriff’s office Tuesday evening regarding a man in a car approaching a 14-year-old boy.

According to the man, he was driving past the boy who was walking in the roadway with his headphones on. As he drove past the teen, the man tapped him on his shoulder to get his attention.

The Sheriff’s Office determined that there was no criminal conduct that took place, and in turn, there will be no criminal charges brought against the Macomb Township resident.

Detectives spoke with the parents of the teen and they have been made aware that the man was identified and understand the circumstances of the man’s interaction with their son.

The Sheriff’s Office always encourages people to keep watch in their neighborhoods and call their local police department if they notice any suspicious or out of the ordinary behavior.
