WEST MICHIGAN — Now I can’t speak for everyone, but I think the less humidity the better. This week we will see quite a bit of relief.

The winds shifted from the hot and sticky south to the crisp and refreshing west. The breeze right off the lake cooled nearly all of the mitten.

Look at the map above. Detroit and Toledo were still in the firing range of southerly winds leaving them in the 80s around 10 p.m. But for us here in West Michigan, we sat comfortably in the low 70s. And look at Ludington, 61! What a difference a day can make.

The week ahead holds only one day of iffy weather –  Wednesday – with rain and a chance of thunderstorms. Wednesday will be humid as well, but with winds out of the southwest it will not be near as bad as what we saw last week.

After Wednesday, temperatures will cool into the 70s. Not too hot, not too cold.
